I provide psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, partnerships, and families. I offer sessions in-person in San Rafael on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, Berkeley Mondays, Thursdays, & Fridays, or online via a HIPAA-secure videoconferencing platform throughout the week to clients located anywhere in the state of CA.
My fee is $150 per 50-minute session. I have a limited number of sliding scale slots available.
I am currently in-network with Aetna, Carelon, and Cigna. For all other insurance carriers, I am able to provide monthly superbills for folks to submit to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.
While I have experience working with a variety clients, below are some of the presenting concerns I specialize in:
LGBTQ+ affirming therapy
I specialize in providing services to the LGBTQIA+ community. I particularly enjoy working with transgender & gender nonconforming adolescents and adults, and bring in my own lived experience as a trans provider to enrich our work together. I also have experience writing letters of readiness for folks accessing gender-affirming medical care. Common presenting concerns include:
- Coming out and identity exploration
- Gender dysphoria and transition support
- Family and relationship issues
- Internalized queerphobia and transphobia
- Trauma and discrimination-related stress
- Mental health concerns such as depression, anxiety, and substance use
Adolescents
I enjoy supporting adolescents in navigating this often complex stage of life. I aim to help teens discover their inner strengths, overcome obstacles, and foster resilience. Some of the presenting concerns I typically see include:
- Anxiety & Depression
- Relationship concerns
- School/academic concerns
- Identity exploration
Trauma & PTSD
I have experience supporting folks who have experienced complex trauma. Additionally, I understand the nuances of experiencing trauma coupled with being chronically misunderstood or othered– both in society and in one’s family of origin. I strive to be trauma-informed in every interaction with my clients, and take care to pace treatment to accommodate each person’s unique needs.
I approach therapy through a relational lens, which means I place a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship as a catalyst for change. I understand that past relational experiences often shape current patterns of behavior and emotional responses– so I aim to focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. From there, I aim to offer corrective emotional experiences that counteract past relational wounds and foster healing.
Neurodiversity-Affirming Therapy
I provide therapy services to those with neurodivergent identities in a way that seeks to understand how to best capitalize on their strengths and ways of being. I often explore with clients the grief and loss that comes with navigating a society that does not always consider your needs and ways of interfacing with the world.
I am particularly skilled at working with folks who are recognizing their neurodivergence in adulthood. I enjoy supporting these clients in developing neurodivergent-friendly skills and strategies to navigate their everyday life and presenting concerns. I also understand the paradigm shift that tends to occur when this realization happens, and work to support folks in processing the grief that often arises when they are understanding for the first time that they’ve been operating in a world that doesn’t always accommodate their unique needs and ways of being.
